Preschool

- Decode CVC (consonant-vowel-consonant) words
- Recognize high-frequency sight words
- Develop reading fluency with simple texts

Word reading assessments and simple comprehension checks
1st Grade
- Ages 6-7
Advanced phonics patterns including blends, digraphs, and long vowels with reading fluency focus.

- Master consonant blends and digraphs
- Understand long and short vowel patterns
- Develop reading fluency and expression
- Build reading comprehension strategies
Key Skills Developed:
- Decoding words with blends (bl, cr, st, etc.)
- Reading words with long vowel patterns (CVCe, CVVC)
- Reading with appropriate rate and expression
- Answering literal comprehension questions

2nd Grade
- Ages 7-8
Master multisyllabic words, morphology, and develop independent reading with text analysis skills.

- Decode multisyllabic words accurately
- Understand prefixes, suffixes, and root words
- Achieve grade-level reading fluency
- Analyze text structure and meaning
Key Skills Developed:
- Reading words with common prefixes and suffixes
- Identifying syllable patterns and word parts
- Reading grade-level text with 90+ accuracy
- Making inferences and connections in text
